
Coakley, Wilbanks named Bulldogs of the Week
PERKINSTON — Brandon Coakley and Savannah Wilbanks have been named the Bulldogs of the Week for March 31-April 6.
Coakley, a freshman third baseman from Covington, La., batted .545 while playing three games in a 2-2 week for Mississippi Gulf Coast. He had hits in all three games, including a 3-for-4 performance in an 11-4 win at Mississippi Delta.
Wilbanks, a sophomore second baseman from Southaven, batted .545 with four doubles and four RBI in a 4-0 week for Mississippi Gulf Coast. She had two hits in each of the last three games, including two doubles in a 15-11 win at Southwest Mississippi.

Gonazalo Cotter, a sophomore from Valencia, Spain, won both his matches to lead an 8-1 win over East Central on Sophomore Day. He won 7-6, 6-1 at No. 1 singles after winning his No. 2 doubles match 8-2.
Karley Rouse, a sophomore from D'Iberville, allowed one run in 12 innings during a 2-0 week for Mississippi Gulf Coast. She threw a four-hitter to shut out Southwest Mississippi 7-0. In a 13-1 win over Mississippi Delta, she allowed three hits. Rouse struck out eight in the two games.
Danique Vermue, a sophomore from 's-Heerenhoek, Netherlands, won both her matches on a Sophomore Day 8-1 win over East Central. She swept her No. 1 singles match 6-3, 6-1 and won 8-3 at No. 1 doubles.
James Vines, a freshman righty from Clinton, La., threw a one-hitter to beat Mississippi Delta 4-1 in Moorhead. He struck out six in his second complete game of the season to lower his ERA to 2.28.
