Rouse, Jackson named Bulldogs of the Week

PERKINSTON — Karley Rouse and Dom Jackson have been named Bulldogs of the Week for Jan. 27-Feb. 2.

Rouse, a sophomore righty from D'Iberville, had a 0.50 ERA while going 2-0 in the first week of the year for Gulf Coast. She scattered 10 hits while allowing just one earned runs in 14 innings.

Jackson, a sophomore outfielder/designated hitter from Gulf Breeze, Fla., slugged three home runs in an 11-10 win over Baton Rouge. His last homer was the walk-off winner. Jackson also walked four times for a .538 OBP.

Also nominated: 

Taelar Felton, a freshman guard from Clinton, averaged 17.0 points, 3.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.0 steals during a 1-1 week for the Bulldogs.

Kaue Kalinowski, a sophomore from Curitiba, Brazil, averaged 18.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 3.0 steals in a 1-1 week.

Aiden Seymour, a sophomore right-hander from D'Iberville, pitched the final four innings of a 9-6 win over Miami Dade. He struck out five and walked one, allowing six hits and two runs.

Savannah Wilbanks, a sophomore infielder from Southaven, had 10 RBI in a 5-1 opening week for Gulf Coast. She had a triple and five walks.
