Brinkley, Barry named Bulldogs of the Week

PERKINSTON — Katelyn Brinkley and Jabbari Barry have been named Bulldogs of the Week for Jan. 13-19.

Brinkley, a freshman forward from Ridgeland, had a dominant double-double in a win at Holmes, averaging 22.0 points in a 2-0 week for Gulf Coast. She had 16 points and 19 rebounds in a 67-51 win at Holmes. In a 75-45 win over East Mississippi, Brinkley had 18 points and eight rebounds. She also had three steals on the week.

Barry, a sophomore guard from Lake Charles, La., averaged 22.0 points while shooting nearly 50 percent from the 3-point line during a 1-1 week for Gulf Coast. He poured in 28 points, from the 3-point line, and had six rebounds in a 72-67 win over East Mississippi. In a loss at Holmes, he had 16 points and four rebounds. He shot 3-for-6 from long distance.
