Dial, Howard named MGCCC Student-Athletes of the Week

PERKINSTON — Abdul Dial and Azaria Howard have been named MGCCC Student-Athletes of the Week for Jan. 8-14.

Dial, a sophomore guard from West Palm Beach, Fla., had a double-double in one game and scored in double-digits coming off the bench in another. He had 13 points and 10 rebounds in a 79-77 double-overtime loss at Baton Rouge, and he scored 14 points and had 3 rebounds in a last-second 68-67 loss to Copiah-Lincoln.

Howard, a freshman forward from Richland, averaged 14.5 points and 5.5 rebounds in a pair of games. She came off the bench to score 12 points and grab 5 rebounds in a 65-52 loss to LSU-Eunice, then had 17 points and 6 rebounds in a 63-49 loss to Co-Lin.
