Wilkinson, McGoey named MGCCC Student-Athletes of the Week

PERKINSTON — Brice Wilkinson and Kaitlynn McGoey have been named MGCCC Student-Athletes of the Week for April 23-29.

Wilkinson, a freshman from Madison Central, won medalist honors at the NJCAA District D Tournament by five shots. He helped No. 2 MGCCC win the tourney by 13 shots.

McGoey, a freshman outfielder from Long Beach, went 3-for-5 in a pair of playoff games for Gulf Coast.

Kole Kittrell, a freshman right-hander from Greene County, pitched a no-hitter against East Mississippi in a 13-0 win. In five innings, he struck out 6 and walked only 1. He needed only 67 pitches and threw 52 strikes.

Logan McGrew, a sophomore catcher/designated hitter from Sumrall, had two hits in each of Gulf Coast's four road victories. In a doubleheader sweep of Southwest, he had a home run and 2 doubles. He drove in four runs in two wins at East Mississippi.
