White, Menhennett named MGCCC Student-Athletes of the Week

PERKINSTON — Jada White and Dylan Menhennett have been named MGCCC Student-Athletes of the Week for March 5-11.

 

Jada White, a freshman catcher from Philadelphia, homered in her last three games of the week and drove in seven runs for the No. 7 Lady Bulldogs. She hit a two-run home run in a 10-2 loss to No. 1 Jones County. White also had two-run shots in 11-9 and 6-4 victories at East Mississippi.

 

Dylan Menhennett, a freshman from Biloxi, had extra-base hits in all four games for No. 9 Gulf Coast. He finished with 3 doubles, 3 triples and 2 home runs. Menhennett had 2 triples and a homer in an 11-1 win over Nunez, and then another triple and a home run in a 13-3 win in the nightcap. He hit 2 doubles in a 3-2 win over Delgado and another in a 3-2 loss in the second game.

John Teague Murphy, a sophomore from Mobile, dropped only seven games in sweeping his singles and doubles matches against Jones County. He won 6-1, 6-2 at No. 3 singles and teamed with Noah Rowell to win 8-4 at No. 2 doubles.

 

Ty Barnes, a sophomore from Petal, struck out 7 in a complete-game 3-2 win against Delgado. He scattered 5 hits and walked only 1.
