Dupree wins MACCC Player of the Week
PERKINSTON — Mississippi Gulf Coast wide receiver Jay Dupree wrote his name in the Mississippi Gulf Coast record book with a Sharpie on Saturday, and the MACCC took note.
The sophomore from Philadelphia, Miss., tied the school record with four touchdown receptions in the Bulldogs' 49-14 win over No. 3 Northwest Mississippi.
Dupree had six catches for 164 yards, all career highs. He tied Javon Bell's 2010 mark of four touchdowns in a game set against Southwest Mississippi.
Dupree is now eligible for NJCAA weekly honors, which will be announced Wednesday. The Bulldogs entered the national rankings at No. 8 after the big win, and they'll put that on display Thursday when Itawamba visits A.L. May Memorial Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
