Ross named to All-MACCC First Team

PERKINSTON — It can be challenging to quantify contributions provided by defenders in a soccer season, but Mississippi Gulf Coast's Neave Ross didn't leave conference coaches any room for doubt with her play.

The freshman from Whitley Bay, England, was named to the All-MACCC First Team for her outstanding play.

She earned a spot among the top four defenders in the league by helping the Bulldogs finish with a 1.49 goals-against average. Ross was capable of sweeping forward with the ball, and she registered one assist.

The Bulldogs finished with four shutouts and had six other games allowing just one goal. The team finished 10-6-1, the first time reaching double-digit wins since 2016. The lost 1-0 to Pearl River in the conference quarterfinals, their first trip to the postseason since spring 2021.
