Lady Bulldogs down East Central

PERKINSTON – Mississippi Gulf Coast's women's tennis team was up 5-3 over East Central when darkness caused the teams to halt play Tuesday. The teams played in windy conditions, with gusts up to 25 mph.

The Lady Bulldogs (2-0 MACJC) had one match in progress when tennis stopped. The match will be completed when the teams play March 15 in Perkinston.

The No. 1 doubles team of Paulina Estrada and Katie Robinson came back from 4-7 down to beat Chaney Mills and Brooke Payne in an 8-6 tiebreaker.

Estrada, Jasmine Sartin, Karah Younger and Lexi Johnson won in straight sets in the singles matches.

The Lady Bulldogs return to action Feb. 27, traveling to Meridian to play the Lady Eagles in MACJC action and Marion Military Institute in a second match.
