Lady Bulldogs pound East Central

PERKINSTON – The Mississippi Gulf Coast women's tennis team heads into spring break a happy bunch after blitzing East Central 7-2 at the MGCCC Tennis Complex on Tuesday.

 

The Lady Bulldogs improve to 4-2 in MACJC play with the victory.

 

"Both team were excited about this match," Gulf Coast coach Gary Bourgeois. "We were ready to play and felt like we had the better team. We felt like we had the better the team."

 

Paulina Estrada, Karah Younger, Jasmine Sartin and Lexi Johnson won two matches each, with Kendra Soley and Anna Stevison winning doubles to get Gulf Coast off to a 3-0 start.

 

"I was very excited the way we played emotionally," Bourgeois said. "We played smart and didn't let emotion get in the way of better decision making and shot selection. I think the results speak for themselves."

 

The Lady Bulldogs return to action March 22 at Holmes.
