Lady Bulldogs lose 5-4 to Hinds
PERKINSTON – Mississippi Gulf Coast reversed its doubles fortunes against Hinds on Monday, but ultimately didn't quite have enough to win the match.
The Lady Bulldogs (6-5 MACJC) got a big win at No. 1 doubles by Paulina Estrada and Karah Younger at the MGCCC Tennis Complex, but wound up losing 5-4. They had lost 6-3 at Hinds last month, but couldn't find another win in singles.
"We won two out of three in doubles and put ourselves in position to win, just like Itawamba," Gulf Coast coach Gary Bourgeois said. "The bottom half of the lineup is still very young and inexperienced. It showed itself today. "
He said playing with that pressure will be a valuable learning experience down the line.
The Lady Bulldogs turn around and play again right away Tuesday at Jones. First serve is at 2 p.m.
Gulf Coast plays Wednesday, as well, traveling to Copiah-Lincoln.
