Bulldogs face another MACJC North Division Foe

Chad Huff has had little time to celebrate his first win as MGCCC head football coach with MACJC North Division power Northwest coming to town Thursday. The Rangers almost pulled off the upset on #19 Jones last week but fell 28-20. Northwest comes to Perkinston with the MACJC'S 4th ranked offense (336 total yards last week) and several big play weapons, including sophomore quarterback Karsten Miller (18/31, 259 yards, 2 TD'S), and receivers Jamarius Mabry (7 catches, 97 yards) and Jalen Gaston (6 catches, 133 yards, 2 TD'S).

Gulf Coast, fresh off a 41-8 win over Northeast, put up 473 total yards in week 1 behind an offense led by quarterback Jason Smith, who went 9 of 13 for 158 yards and 2 TD'S, both going to receiver Tyrone Williams (4 catches, 144 yards). Freshman running back Preston Dedeaux rushed 14 times for 73 yards and 2 scores and averaged 5.2 yards per carry. The Bulldog defense held Northeast to six points and forced two turnovers and sacked Tiger quarterback Brett Thompson 3 times. Bulldog sophomore defensive back Tony Bridges scored on a 55-yard punt return to make the score 41-0 at halftime. Kicker Tristan Reynolds was 5-out-of 6 on extra points.

The Ranger defense picked off 3 passes and got a sack against Jones.
