13 MGCCC football players named All-State, 7 named All-Region

Ten Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College football players were named to the MACJC All-State First Team and three were named to the second team.  Gulf Coast snagged three of the four MVP spots, with Martinas Rankin, Tony Bridges and Maurice Swain chosen while a player from Co-Lin received the other.

The first team selections for offense from Gulf Coast are sophomores Tyrone Williams, Martinas Rankin, Kevin Phillips and Tristan Reynolds, and freshman Brandon Hill.  First team defense are sophomores Maurice Swain, Jeremy Cutrer, Justin Evans, and Tony Bridges, and freshman Rod Sims.

Second team selections from Gulf Coast for offense are freshman Tevaris McCormick and sophomore Cody Vaughn.  For defense, sophomore Barron Miller was chosen.

Gulf Coast tied with East Mississippi CC for the top spot, boasting seven players named to the NJCAA Region XXIII All-Region Football team.  Offensive players chosen are Martinas Rankin, Brandon Hill, and Tristan Reynolds. Defensive players are Maurice Swain, Tony Bridges, Justin Evans and Jeremy Cutrer.
