Bulldogs Soccer ranked 8th in preseason

PERKINSTON — Mississippi Gulf Coast has moved into the newly-created Division II in the NJCAA men's soccer world, and the Bulldogs are already being recognized as a team to beat.

Gulf Coast is ranked eighth in the NJCAA Division II Men's Soccer preseason rankings, released Monday by the national body.

The Bulldogs are tops among MACCC teams, one spot above Jones.

Louisburg, in North Carolina, is No. 1 in the poll.

Gulf Coast plays its preseason scrimmage Tuesday when Itawamba visits. The women's team will kick off at 1 p.m., with the men scheduled to start at 3 at Bary Thrash Field. The first regular-season game is Friday at Hinds.
