Travis, Inchima named Scholar All-Americans

PERKINSTON — Mississippi Gulf Coast landed two student-athletes on the 15-person United Soccer Coaches Junior College Men's Scholar All-American. Deon Travis and Christian Inchima were announced by the organization as members of the team Tuesday.

Travis, a sophomore defender from Madison, moved into a more defensive role in his second season as a Bulldog. He excelled again and earned All-MACCC for a second straight season.

He has a 4.0 grade-point average in political science and is headed to Florida Gulf Coast to continue his collegiate soccer career.

Inchima, a sophomore forward from Brampton, Ontario, tied for the MACCC lead with 10 goals and had two assists. He also earned All-MACCC honors for a second straight year, as well as a spot on the All-NJCAA Region 23 Team.

The United Soccer Coaches named him to its Junior College All-American Team earlier in the month. He has a 3.66 GPA in general studies and is headed to East Tennessee State to continue playing soccer.
