Lady Bulldogs return to action against Delgado
PERKINSTON – The long holiday break behind them, the Mississippi Gulf Coast women's basketball team gets back in action Thursday against a team they played just two games ago.
Delgado returns a trip the Lady Bulldogs (7-2) made on Dec. 9, when Gulf Coast won 42-35 in New Orleans. It was the lowest scoring game of the year for the Lady Bulldogs.
"They get in a zone and stay in a zone," Gulf Coast coach Jason Conner said. "If you aren't knocking them down, it makes it awkward."
Gulf Coast and Delgado tip off at 5:30 p.m.
Delgado has struggled to a 3-12 mark this year, but defeated Gulf Coast in Perkinston last year.
"They probably attack our matchup zone better than anybody we play," Conner said. "When they're shooting it, they're hard to stop."
Gulf Coast has another non-conference home game Saturday when LSU-Eunice visits the Weathers/Wentzell Center at 4 p.m. The Lady Bulldogs return to MACJC action next week.
