Late 2-goal rally earns Bulldogs a tie

Mississippi Gulf Coast battled back from a two-goal deficit in the final 15 minutes to earn a 4-4 tie at Southwest on Monday.

Luke Mills (Fr., Leighton Buzzard England/Cedars Upper School) scored on a free kick in the 80^th minute, and Matt Roberts (Fr., Portsmouth England/Portsmouth Grammar School) set up Cisco Thomas (Fr., Mississauga Ontario/Meadowvale Secondary School) for equalizer eight minutes later in Summit.

The teams played two ten-minute scoreless overtime periods.

The Bulldogs erased two deficits in the first half, as well. Roberts scored on an assist from Thomas in the 28^th minute to knot the game at 1, and Thomas answered another Southwest goal with help from C.J. Smith (So., Brampton Ontario/David Suzuki Secondary School) in the 37^th minute.

Gulf Coast ends the season 5-9-1, 2-5-1 MACJC South. The tie knocked Southwest (11-2-1, 5-2-1) out of a possible three-way logjam atop the division.
