Meet The Teams scheduled for Aug. 23

PERKINSTON — Mississippi Gulf Coast will hold its 2018 Meet The Teams night Aug. 23 at historic A.L. May Memorial Stadium.

The free event starts at 6 p.m. and will include performances by the Bulldog Cheerleaders, Band of Gold and the Perkettes.

First-year football coach Jack Wright will introduce his new staff as well as his 2018 squad. Wright returns to the MACJC ranks after having won a national championship in 2015 at Northwest.

Women's soccer coach Jackie Rhodes is entering her fourth season in charge of the Lady Bulldogs, coming off two straight trips to the state playoffs. She will introduce her staff and team, which is coming off a 7-5-3 season.

Men's soccer coach Chris Handy's Bulldogs haven't lost an MACJC South Division game since 2015. They went 13-3-1 last season in Handy's sixth year running the program, and he'll introduce his coaches and the 2018 squad.

In the event of inclement weather, the festivities will take place in the Malone Hall auditorium on the Perkinston Campus.
