Cade, Hall named MGCCC Student-Athletes of the Week

PERKINSTON — Kayla Cade and Dawson Hall have been named MGCCC Student-Athletes of the Week for May 13-19.

Cade, a freshman catcher from Harrison Central, went 3-for-4 for the No. 12 Lady Bulldogs in a 7-4 loss to No. 2 Jones in the MACJC Tournament. She had three singles and drove in a run.

Hall, a freshman right-hander from East Central, shut out No. 4 Jones on 86 pitches in an 8-0 win in eight innings at the NJCAA Region 23 Tournament in Fulton. He struck out six and pitched to just 26 batters, two over the minimum.

Also nominated:

Brandon Parker, a senior right fielder from West Harrison, batted .500 with two home runs and six RBI in the NJCAA Region 23 Tournament in Fulton. He also had a pair of doubles and was walked four times as the Bulldogs finished fourth.
