Spivery, White named MGCCC Student-Athletes of the Week
PERKINSTON — LaRaymond Spivery and Daphane White have been named MGCCC Student-Athletes of the Week for Jan. 14-20.
Spivery, a sophomore guard from George County, made 4-of-9 3-pointers and led Mississippi Gulf Coast in a win at Southwest on the way to a 2-0 week. He had 14 points and 8 rebounds while playing all 40 minutes in the 67-65 victory. Had had 11 assists and 6 steals on the week.
Daphane White, a freshman from St. Martin, had a 20-point, 7-rebound game against Meridian to help Mississippi Gulf Coast move to 3-1 in the MACJC South. She made 8-of-12 from the field and all four free throws in a 67-54 win.
