Payne, Narcisse named MGCCC Student-Athletes of the Week
PERKINSTON — Paris Payne and Lowell Narcisse have been named MGCCC Student-Athletes of the Week for Sept. 10-16.
Payne, a freshman midfielder from Southampton, England, had four goals and an assist playing in two wins to lead the Lady Bulldogs to a 2-1 record. She recorded a hat trick in a 6-1 win over Southwest, then added a goal and an assist in a 4-1 win at Meridian.
Narcisse, a freshman quarterback from St. James, La., ran for three touchdowns and threw for two more in a 48-41 win over Holmes. He completed 16-of-23 passes for 241 yards, with scoring passes of 15 and 16 yards. He also scored on runs of 4, 2 and 1 yards.

Haley Lott, a sophomore from West Harrison, 3 goals for Mississippi Gulf Coast in a 2-1 week. She made five saves and didn't allow a goal in a 4-1 win at Meridian, playing 30 minutes. She had a save in 2-0 loss to LSU Eunice, and played just 35 minutes in a 6-1 win over Southwest.
Matt Roberts, a freshman forward from Portsmouth, England, scored in every game this week as Mississippi Gulf Coast went 2-1. He had a goal in a 4-3 overtime win against LSU Eunice, then notched 2 goals and an assist in a 5-3 loss to Southwest. He added 1 goal in a 4-0 win at Meridian.
Demonde Harris, a freshman defensive lineman from New Orleans, had two tackles and three assists in the win over Holmes. He anchored a defensive line that allowed the triple-option attack only 136 yards rushing.
Dayreke Snow, a sophomore from Newton, blocked a punt and recovered it against Holmes. The play helped ignite a 20-0 first quarter for Gulf Coast.
