Townsend named MGCCC Student-Athlete of the Week
PERKINSTON — Darius Townsend has been named MGCCC Student-Athlete of the Week for Sept. 24-30.
Townsend, a sophomore linebacker from Laurel, had 10 total tackles in Gulf Coast's 38-13 loss to Co-Lin. He had seven solo tackles in that total.
Also nominated:
Terrion Avery, a sophomore running back from Stone High, ran for 121 yards while averaging 6.4 yards per carry in Mississippi Gulf Coast's 38-13 loss to Co-Lin.
