Bulldogs win 9-0, move to 12-0
No. 13 Mississippi Gulf Coast dominated Southwest Mississippi in men's tennis action Monday. The Bulldogs blanked the Bears 9-0 at Summit.
Seth Macute (Fr., Brisbane, Australia/St Joseph's Nudgee College) and Clay Fudge (Fr., Madison/Madison Central) didn't drop even so much as a game in their respective singles and doubles matches.
Macute and Wesley Fontaine won 8-0 at No. 1 doubles, and he double-bageled Southwest's No. 1 singles player. Fudge did the same with Pedro Molero (Fr., Maracaibo, Venezuela/U.E. Instituto Americano Joseph John Thomson) at No. 2 doubles, and he swept through his No. 4 singles match.
Gulf Coast (14-2) remained unbeaten in MACCC play. The Bulldogs are atop the conference with a 12-0 mark, with a four games left in the regular season. They'll play two of those Thursday when Holmes visits the MGCCC Tennis Complex. First serves are set for 2 p.m.
