Bulldogs named ITA UTR Team of the Month
PERKINSTON — Mississippi Gulf Coast claimed two men's tennis championships this month and the hardware haul has earned the squad national recognition.
The Bulldogs were named the ITA UTR Team of the Month for April. It was a momentous month for the team.
Gulf Coast capped a perfect 16-0 conference campaign to win the MACCC title, then turned around later in the week and won the first NJCAA Region 23 championship since 2013.
The Gulf Coast tennis team heads to Plano, Texas, next month for the NJCAA Division I Men's Tennis Tournament.
The Intercollegiate Tennis Association is the governing body for tennis, and UTR is the Universal Tennis Rating, a system the measures skill levels for all players.
