UPDATED: Gulf Coast schedule updates

Note: This release has been updated to reflect a new women's basketball game start time Friday and the men's basketball game moving to 1 p.m. Saturday.

PERKINSTON — Mother Nature's arctic grip on the state of Mississippi has forced a number of postponements in the MACCC athletic calendar affecting Mississippi Gulf Coast.

Here's a sport-by-sport roundup of how the Bulldogs' teams are being affected right now:

BASKETBALL

Gulf Coast is still scheduled to play against East Central this week. The women will travel to Decatur on Friday for a 3 p.m. tipoff. That game will be streamed at https://eccclive.com/gold-channel/.

The men will play Saturday at Perkinston at 1 p.m. The game will be streamed at https://livestream.com/mgcccbulldogs/events/9529115.

The men's basketball game against Hinds that was supposed to be played Wednesday will be rescheduled again.

TENNIS

The Bulldogs tennis teams will play matches that had been postponed from earlier in the week when Jones travels to the MGCCC Tennis Complex on Saturday. The men's and women's teams are in an unbeaten showdown at 1 p.m. with the Bobcats that will determine who sits atop the MACCC standings alone.

The doubleheader against Southwest on Friday has been postponed.

BASEBALL

The baseball team has postponed both of their doubleheaders scheduled for this week. Meridian was scheduled to play at Ken "Curly" Farris Field earlier this week, but the teams will look at rescheduling that down the line. The games against Southwest won't take place Saturday, with the possibility of rescheduling Sunday or Monday.

SOFTBALL

The softball team will not be playing in the Coastal Alabama Tournament this weekend.
