Wilkinson, Agner named Bulldogs of the Week

PERKINSTON — Matt Wilkinson and K.K. Agner have been named Bulldogs of the Week for April 19-25.

Wilkinson, a freshman from Madison Central, won medalist in the MACCC Championship. He shot 1-over to win by a shot, leading No. 2 Gulf Coast to a second-place finish.

K.K. Agner, a freshman from Horn Lake, batted .625 with two home runs in a 6-0 week for No. 4 Mississippi Gulf Coast. Her two-run homer against No. 6 Copiah-Lincoln sparked a five-run, seventh-inning comeback in a 9-8 win. She had a walkoff two-run single in the first game against Co-Lin to win 5-4. 

Also nominated:

James Redmond, a sophomore from Bremen, Germany, had 2 goals for No. 12 Mississippi Gulf Coast in a 5-3 win at Copiah-Lincoln. He added a goal and an assist in a 5-1 win over Southwest Mississippi.

Skyler Steede, a sophomore keeper from Lucedale, had a shutout in a 1-0 win over Southwest Mississippi in addition to holding Copiah-Lincoln scoreless in the first half of a 9-0 win. 

Alyssa Palisi, a freshman from Diamondhead, had four goals and an assist in a 9-0 win at Copiah-Lincoln. 

Emaleigh Coates, a freshman from Lucedale, went 3-0 with a save for No. 4 Gulf Coast. She had a win and a save in a sweep of Meridian, striking out seven while throwing a two-hitter in the opener. She blanked the Eagles for two innings in the second for her first save. Coates threw a three-hitter against No. 6 Copiah-Lincoln and a two-hitter against Mississippi Delta.
