Johnson, Travis named Bulldogs of the Week

PERKINSTON — Calvin Johnson and Rakeya Travis have been named Bulldogs of the Week for Jan. 19-25.

Johnson, a sophomore from Long Beach, registered a double-double in a 92-33 win over Faith Prep. He had 18 points and 10 rebounds, along with an assist and two steals.

Travis, a sophomore shortstop from Poplarville, batted .455 with three home runs and 12 RBI for No. 2 Gulf Coast in the Youngsville (La.) Invitational. She had a three-run walk-off homer in the ninth during an 11-10 win over San Jacinto-South to earn a split Friday after going 2-for-4 with a homer and 4 RBI in a 13-7 loss to McLennan. She went 2-for-4 with a homer and 3 RBI in an 11-6 win over Lamar State-Port Arthur before being pitched around in a 9-0 loss to Northwest Florida State with 2 walks and a HBP.
