House named MGCCC Student-Athlete of the Week

PERKINSTON — Deondre House has been named MGCCC Student-Athlete of the Week for Sept. 27-Oct. 4.

Deondre House, a sophomore running back from Senatobia, ran 21 times for 220 yards and a touchdown in Gulf Coast's 42-25 win at archrival Pearl River. House, who led the country in yards per carry as a freshman, picked up right where he left off by averaging 10.5 yards per carry. His 90-yard touchdown run early in the second half helped the Bulldogs pull away.

Also nominated:

Navonteque Strong, a sophomore from Forest, had 13 total tackles and an eye-popping six quarterback hurries in Gulf Coast's win. He had five solo tackles and one tackle-for-loss.

Solomon Landrum, a sophomore from Sumrall, handled all long-snapping duties perfectly during Gulf Coast's win.
