Bulldog Men are top seeds in R23 Tourney

PERKINSTON — No. 13 Mississippi Gulf Coast will begin play in the NJCAA Region 23 Men's Tennis Championships on Friday at 2 p.m. in Ellisville.

The Bulldogs are the top seed in the tournament after a perfect 16-0 regular-season record in the MACCC which earned them the state championship. They'll play the winner of Thursday's match between fourth-seeded Copiah-Lincoln and sixth-seeded East Central. Co-Lin is ranked 19th in the country, while ECCC is 18th.

The finals will be played Saturday at 2 p.m. There will also be a third-place match at the same time, with the top three teams in the tournament advancing to the NJCAA Tournament next month in Plano, Texas.

Jones is the No. 2 seed, and the Bobcats will play the winners of Thursday's match between three-seed Itawamba and six-seed Meridian.

No. 1 Gulf Coast vs. Co-Lin/East Central winner, 2 p.m.

No. 2 Jones vs. Itawamba/Meridian winner, 2 p.m.

Saturday, April 17

Finals

Friday winners play at 2 p.m.

Third-place match

Friday losers play at 2 p.m.
