Women’s Soccer launches MACCC season

PERKINSTON — Mississippi Gulf Coast kicks off its MACCC women's soccer season Tuesday when East Central visits.

Kickoff at Bary Thrash Field is 5 p.m. Buy your tickets ahead of time to save money. It costs $7 for adults or $5 for youth online, or $10 and $7 at the gate. Tickets are available at http://mgcccbulldogs.com/tickets, and the game will be streamed at https://mgcccbulldogs.com/watch.

The Bulldogs dropped out of this week's NJCAA rankings after not playing last week. They were No. 20 the previous week.

• On Sept. 3, MGCCC beat Pensacola State 3-0 at Perkinston. Laylah Johnson (Fr., Gulfport/Gulfport), Jennifer Lopez (Fr., Gautier/Gautier) and Kyla Smith (So., Hurley/East Central) scored for the Bulldogs, and Laurel Conley (Fr., Ocean Springs/Ocean Springs) had four saves in the shutout.
• On Sept. 6, East Central tied Copiah-Lincoln 1-1 in Decatur. It was a non-conference match.

Previous Meeting

On Aug. 28, Gulf Coast beat East Central 1-0 at Bary Thrash Field. Charlotte Gatehouse (Fr., Southampton England/Oasis Academy) had the goal, and Conley faced one shot to record the shutout.
