Moerck, Mink named USC All-Americans

PERKINSTON — Two Mississippi Gulf Coast men's soccer players were named to the United Soccer Coaches NJCAA Division II All-American Team on Wednesday.

Forward Victor Moerck and defender Alexander Mink, who led the Bulldogs to the national tournament for the second time in school history, earned spots on the squad. They were the only two MACCC representatives on the team.

Moerck, a sophomore from Vaerlose, Denmark, finished third in the conference with 15 goals and led Gulf Coast with eight assists. He had a hat trick against Northwest Mississippi and finished his Bulldogs career with 32 goals and 14 assists.

Mink, a freshman from Long Beach, played mainly at center back. He helped Gulf Coast put allow just 1.14 goals while scoring three goals with three assists. He got a late game-winning goal against Jones in the first game of the season.
