Falcon wins MACCC Pitcher of the Week
PERKINSTON — Mississippi Gulf Coast's Olivia Falcon was named MACCC Pitcher of the Week after putting up nothing but zeroes last week.
The sophomore from St. Amant, La., went 2-0 and struck out 11 in seven innings for Gulf Coast. She pitched two extra innings of hitless relief to beat No. 16 North Iowa Area 2-1, then threw a two-hitter to beat No. 22 Kankakee 8-0 in five innings. She struck out nine without a walk in that appearance.
Falcon is now eligible for the NJCAA's weekly award, which will be announced Wednesday. She's the first Bulldog to win conference honors this season.
