Gulf Coast loses to No. 2 PRCC

PERKINSTON — Mississippi Gulf Coast lost 74-46 to No. 2 Pearl River on Thursday at the Weathers-Wentzell Center.

The Wildcats (20-0, 12-0 MACJC South) went on an 11-0 run to end the first half and lead 31-18. They pulled away from the Bulldogs (14-6, 6-6) in the second half.

D'yasmond Booker (Fr., Pascagoula/Pascagoula) and Colby Cooke (So., Laurel/Laurel) had 10 each for the Bulldogs.

Gulf Coast, which has lost three straight, falls to fifth in the South. The top four teams make the MACJC Tournament. The Bulldogs travel to Jones on Monday and entertain Hinds in the season finale. Two wins would still put them in position to advance.
