Wright to speak at prestigious clinics

PERKINSTON — NJCAA Coach of the Year Jack Wright will be speaking at a pair of high-profile coaching clinics this week.

Wright, whose Bulldogs won the national championship last season, will be making a pair of presentations at the 57th Gulf Coast Coaching Clinic in Biloxi on Thursday. He'll address fellow coaches on offensive game planning and using motion in an offense.

Other coaches at the clinic which will be held at the Golden Nugget Biloxi Hotel & Casino include Alabama cornerbacks coach Karl Scott and strength coach Scott Cochran, as well as Southeastern Louisiana head coach Frank Scelfo.

Wright will make presentations Saturday on quarterback play in spread offenses and offensive game planning at the Nike Coach of the Year Mid-South Clinic. It will be held at the Gold Strike Casino Resort in Tunica.

Other coaches at the Nike clinic include Georgia head coach Kirby Smart, Florida head coach Dan Mullen and Tennessee head coach Jeremy Pruitt.

Wright has compiled a 19-2 record in two seasons at Perk, becoming only the second coach in NJCAA history to win national championships at two different schools. He has the highest winning percentage for any coach in school history in two or more seasons.
