Bulldogs drop 2 in Raymond

Mississippi Gulf Coast swung the bats on Tuesday but gave up too many hits in a baseball three-way day at Raymond.

Charlie Keller (Fr., Mobile, Ala./Mobile Christian) hit a two-out grand slam in the top of the seventh to tie the opening game against host Hinds at 11, but the Eagles walked it off with a single and double leading off the bottom of the inning.

Itawamba won the second game 10-6.

The Bulldogs hit four home runs in the opener, with Keller (Fr., Mobile, Ala./Mobile Christian) hitting Nos. 6 and 7 on the season. Sean Smith (So., Pascagoula/Pascagoula), who was 7-for-9 across both games with five RBI, homered again and also has seven.

Kade Carpenter (So., Vancleave/Vancleave) was 4-for-7 in the two games and homered against Hinds.

MACCC teams are playing three sets of non-conference games where two teams travel to a host school. Each team plays two games during those days.

Gulf Coast is now 4-6. The Bulldogs will host Illinois Central on Sunday. First pitch at Ken "Curly" Farris Field will be at 2 p.m. The games will be streamed at https://mgcccbulldogs.com/watch.
