PERKINSTON — Mississippi Gulf Coast expects to face stiff opposition in its weekend doubleheader at Ken "Curly" Farris Field.
No. 5 Lansing, which finished fifth at the NJCAA Division II Championship last season, visits Saturday. First pitch is set for 1 p.m., and the games will be streamed at https://mgcccbulldogs.com/watch.
The Michigan team is just getting the season starting, making a swing through the South starting Friday in Meridian. The Stars will play 12 games between March 3 and 12.
The Bulldogs start MACCC play in a week. Gulf Coast split a doubleheader with Lansing last season, one of just 11 losses for the Stars.

- MGCCC lost 7-2 to Jones and 3-2 to No. 1 Pearl River on Wednesday in Ellisville.

On March 4, 2022, Gulf Coast bounced back from a 10-8 loss in the opener against Lansing to win the second 14-12.
