Mississippi Gulf Coast shot poorly on freebies and from deep Thursday night and lost 75-67 to Pearl River in Poplarville.
Kaue Kalinowski (So., Curitiba, Brazil/Divine Savior) led Gulf Coast with 21 points, and Jabbari Barry (So., Lake Charles, La./Barbe) added 11.
The Bulldogs led 52-51 with 9:22 left, but Pearl River scored the next 11 points. Gulf Coast got within four points with 2:12 left but could get no closer.
Thomas Tangle (So., Standing Pine/Choctaw Central) led Gulf Coast with 11 rebounds, finishing two points short of a double-double.
Gulf Coast (12-8, 2-4 MACCC) shot just 20 percent from the 3-point arc and 50 percent from the free-throw line.
The Bulldogs entertain Coahoma on Monday at Dantzler Arena. Tipoff in Perkinston is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
