Bulldogs lose to PRCC

PERKINSTON — Mississippi Gulf Coast dug a first-half hole too deep to get out Tuesday night, eventually falling to Pearl River 65-53 at Dantzler Arena.

The Bulldogs (5-2) trailed by 20 at halftime and sliced the deficit to six late in the second half.

Gulf Coast was led by Kaue Kalinowski (So., Curitiba, Brazil/Divine Savior) with 16 points. Thomas Tangle (So., Standing Pine/Choctaw Central) had 10 points as the only other Bulldog in double digits.

The Bulldogs shot 30 times from behind the 3-point arc, ending the game with nine treys and nine two-point buckets. The teams combined for only 21 free-throw attempts.

Pearl River improved to 4-2.

The Bulldogs are back at Dantzler Arena on Thursday when Baton Rouge Post-Grad visits. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m., and the game will be streamed at https://mgcccbulldogs.com/watch.
