Bulldogs get big road win

 

Mississippi Gulf Coast used a dominating road performance Monday night to get back to .500 in the MACCC with a 90-72 win over Northwest Mississippi.

Kaue Kalinowski (So., Curitiba, Brazil/Divine Savior) scored 19 of his 22 points in the first half, and the Bulldogs led by as many as 27 in the second.

The Bulldogs moved to 16-10 overall and 6-6 in the MACCC. They're in a three-way tie for seventh, needing to finish in the top eight to host a first-round Region 23 Tournament game.

Jabbari Barry (So., Lake Charles, La./Barbe) had 18 points, including 6-of-13 from behind the arc. Larry Lee (So., Utica/Raymond) finished with 16.

The Bulldogs shot 50 percent from the field, including 43.8 percent from the 3-point line. They led for all but two minutes in Senatobia.

Kalinowski, who made 5 of 7 from behind the arc, led the Bulldogs bench to a 46-point night.

Northwest is 7-18, 1-12.

Gulf Coast celebrates Sophomore Night on Thursday at Perk. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at Dantzler Arena.
