MGCCC women down Eagles

The Mississippi Gulf Coast women's tennis team won its second straight match Friday, blasting Hinds 7-2 in Raymond.

The Bulldogs (7-1, 6-1 MACCC) got dominating performances from their top two players. Krissy Georgieva (So., Epsom and Ewell High School/Sutton, England) and Ally Bowen (Fr., Oxford/Lafayette County) won their No. 1 doubles match 8-1.

They each won their singles matches 6-1, 6-1 to grab three points together.

Kaylen Bond (So., Stone/Perkinston) bounced by from dropping the first set to win her No. 4 singles match 2-6, 6-3, 10-3. Anna Stringer (So., Stone/Wiggins) and Tia Topps (So., Grenada/Grenada) also won their singles match, and Topps teamed with Kasey Kent (Fr., Ridgeland/Ridgeland) grabbed their other doubles point.

Gulf Coast entertains Itawamba next Tuesday. First serves at the MGCCC Tennis Complex are at 1 p.m.
