Gulf Coast 2nd at Lou Hart Invitational
Gulf Coast fired the low round 290 of the tournament on Tuesday but it wasn't enough to erase a 5-shot lead Meridian held after the first day. Meridian shot 294-292--586 on their home course to win by three shots over Gulf Coast 589, followed by Faulkner St CC 591. Gulf Coast had to count a 79 the first day when Conner Entriken's 74 was disqualified when the sophomore found out he had hit a wrong ball on the previous hole.
Ty Medling won the individual title 141 on the first hole of Sudden Death when Faulkner's Evan Dittmer bogeyed after a three-putt. MGCCC's Grant Motter 142 missed the playoff by one shot but was named to his third straight All-Tournament Team. Tyler Schingle 148 of Gulf Coast was also named to the All-Tournament Team. Rounding out the scoring for Gulf Coast Fant Carpenter 149, George Kawell and Phillip Hickam 150, Danny De Los Santos 154, and Conner Entriken 74-71--DQ.
