Crabbe is third, Bulldogs second after first round

Conner Crabbe's 1-under-par 71 put him third among individuals at the fourth MACJC event of the season, and Mississippi Gulf Coast was second Monday in the team standings.

Crabbe, playing as an individual in the tournament, is three shots behind Northeast Mississippi's Alex Tull, and two behind Copiah-Lincoln's Jacob Ross. Gulf Coast teammate Michael Hendrickson is tied for fourth at even. The first round was played at Wedgewood Golfers' Club in Olive Branch.

Gulf Coast is two shots behind host Northwest Mississippi in the team chase after a 14-over 302. The Bulldogs are a shot ahead of Co-Lin, and three ahead of Northeast in the eight-team field.

The second round will be played today at Back Acres Country Club in Senatobia.
