Bulldogs in second in shootout with other top golf teams
Gulf Coast's George Kawell and Grant Motter are in a pack tied for fourth Friday after two rounds of the Ron Marshall Spring Fling Tournament in Scottsboro, Ala. The duo has helped the Bulldogs remain in second against stiff competition in the team standings heading into the final day.
The Bulldogs are tied with Darton State (Ga.) at 15-over 591, three shots behind Mesa (Ariz.) CC in the 21-team event at Goose Pond Colony's Lake Course, the site of this year's NJCAA championship.
Those three teams are ranked second (Mesa), third (Darton) and fourth (MGCCC) in the latest Golfstat rankings.
Kawell and Motter are tied with four other golfers at 1-over 145. Bryce Melville is in the lead at 1-under.
Conner Entriken is 7-over, tied for 30th, and Danny De Los Santos is 9-over, tied for 41st with teammate Phillip Hickam.
