Men’s Soccer loses 3-0 at No. 6 Tyler

Mississippi Gulf Coast got off the bus after a long ride to Texas today seeking a tough test in the 2023 men's soccer season opener for both teams. The Bulldogs got it at No. 6 Tyler, falling 3-0 but picking up some valuable lessons Friday.

Tyler is a perennial power in NJCAA Division I, so the Bulldogs were playing up a level trying to build a postseason resume. They trailed 1-0 after a goal in the 38th minute.

The Apaches added a pair of goals in the final 20 minutes to pull away.

Gulf Coast will play again Saturday at 4 p.m. in an exhibition against UT Tyler, an NCAA Division II school. The Bulldogs' next regular-season game will be Tuesday when they make the trip to Ellisville to play No. 5 Jones in a non-conference matchup. Kickoff will be at 7 p.m., and the game will be streamed at https://jcbobcats.com/.
