Bulldogs will celebrate Sophomore Day on Saturday

PERKINSTON — Mississippi Gulf Coast will celebrate Sophomore Day on Saturday when Holmes visits Ken "Curly" Farris Field.

Buy your tickets ahead of time to save money. It costs $7 for adults or $5 for youth online, or $10 and $7 at the gate. Tickets are available at http://mgcccbulldogs.com/tickets, and the game will be streamed at https://mgcccbulldogs.com/watch.

Playoff stakes remain high for the Bulldogs, who have clinched a spot in the postseason. Their magic number to finish in the top six in the MACCC is two. Those teams avoid the play-in game to earn a spot in the NJCAA Region 23 Tournament that will include the seventh- through 10th-seeded teams.

Gulf Coast will be saluting 16 sophomores during pregame ceremonies at 1:40 p.m. The Randy Rouse Award will also be presented. It's given in honor of a former Gulf Coast baseball player who died of leukemia in 1992. The award is voted on by the team and is given to the sophomore who best exemplifies sportsmanship, unselfishness, and loyalty.
