Smith wins MACCC Player of the Week
PERKINSTON — Omarion Smith's great play on the court last week earned him MACCC Player of the Week.
The sophomore forward from Atlanta, Ga., capped a great week with a perfect-shooting double-double in a 97-70 win over Holmes. He scored 19 points with 14 rebounds, making all six field goals and seven free throws.
Smith scored 15 points with 7 rebounds in a 71-62 win at East Mississippi. He also had three blocks in each game.
The award is voted on by the conference's sports information directors. Smith is now eligible for the NJCAA weekly award, which will be announced Wednesday.
