Bulldogs try to beat PRCC again Thursday

PERKINSTON — Archrival Pearl River comes to Dantzler Arena on Thursday, and Mississippi Gulf Coast will be trying to hand the Wildcats a second loss this season.

The teams met in the fall at Poplarville, with the Bulldogs handing PRCC its second loss. The Wildcats haven't lost since and sit atop the MACCC men's basketball standings.

On Nov. 28, Gulf Coast beat then-No. 19 Pearl River 85-79 in Poplarville. Duran Parish had 24 points and five assists, and Omarion Smith had an 18-point, 14-rebound double-double.

• John Davis (So., Pascagoula/Pascagoula) leads the MACCC in 3-point shootings (50.9 percent).
• Omarion Smith (So., Atlanta Ga./Douglas County) is fourth in the conference in field-goal shooting (61.1 percent), eighth in blocks (25) and ninth in rebounding (7.9 rpg).
