Softball christens new turf Wednesday

PERKINSTON — Mississippi Gulf Coast's first home games on its new softball turf will take place a day later than originally scheduled. The Bulldogs will entertain Pensacola State on Wednesday.

First pitch at Ross-Smith Field is set for 1 p.m. The games will be streamed at https://mgcccbulldogs.com/watch

Gulf Coast will be playing on its new FieldTurf TripleThreat Natural artificial surface. It has already allowed the team to practice quickly after rain and decreased the time needed to prepare the field for practice and games.
