LaFosse named MACCC Player of the Week
PERKINSTON — Mississippi Gulf Coast catcher/designated hitter Kamryn LaFosse slugged her way to an MACCC award last week.
The freshman catcher from Lake Charles, La., batted .455 with two homers and eight RBI during a 3-1 week for Gulf Coast to earn conference Player of the Week.
In a 9-2 win over Coastal Alabama-South, she went 2-for-3 with a homer a double and four RBI. She had a double and RBI in a 7-6 in the nightcap. LaFosse hit a home run and had three RBI in a 13-5 win over Baton Rouge.
The award is voted on by the league's sports information directors. LaFosse is now eligible for the NJCAA honors, which will be announced Wednesday.
