Agner, Harrell lead 4 All-MACCC softball picks

PERKINSTON — K.K. Agner and Jett Harrell led four Mississippi Gulf Coast players who were named to the All-MACCC softball team announced Tuesday.

Agner and Harrell made the first team, with Kate Brannan earning second-team honors. Jorja Roberson is on the honorable mention list.

Agner, a sophomore infielder from Horn Lake, earned a first-team spot for the third straight year. She returned for a COVID season and hit .409 with team highs in home runs (14) and RBI (57). The home run and RBI totals were both fifth-most in the conference. She finished third in on-base percentage (.555) and led the league in walks (39) and hit by pitches (16).

Harrell, a freshman from Clarksdale, earned her spot as a designated player. She played outfield and pitched for the Bulldogs, and was outstanding doing both. She batted .396 with eight home runs and 45 RBI, both second-most on the team. Harrell led the MACCC with 168 innings pitched, going 20-6 with three saves and a 2.79 ERA.

Brannan, a sophomore outfielder, is on the All-MACCC second team for a second season. She batted .351 with five triples and 20 RBI. Her triple total was second-best in the conference.

Roberson, a freshman outfielder from Branyan, batted .371 with four home runs and 33 RBI. She finished with the second-most doubles (17) in the MACCC.
